About Us

Laura Imbeault

Imbeault is French, and pronounced "im·bo"

Best described as a photographic artist, Laura's passion and enthusiasm for her work is beautifully reflected in her creative, storytelling images.

Dating back to the age of seven, when she received her first camera, photography has been ingrained in her soul. After photographing portraits, weddings and life's most important family events, friends and neighbors began to request her talents. She attended the Art Institutes of Houston and Boston, Endicott College and The New England School of Photography before beginning her "professional" photographic career as an industrial photographer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In 1986 she opened her studio, believing so strongly that life should be spent doing something you truly love. She dedicated herself full time to a passion for a more natural, sensitive and creative approach to fine portrait and wedding photography. She shuns the stiffly posed techniques often seen in portraits, and believes they should go beyond just the physical features of the subject. A portrait should tell a story about the subject's personality, lifestyle and relationship with loved ones.

Children and adults alike who feel naturally relaxed in her presence embrace Laura's calm nature and friendly, outgoing personality. Her playful attitude and patience in working with children enables her to create images that invoke emotion and capture feelings.

One of Laura's leading trademarks has been in producing her "Unique Editions", which are commonly mistaken for oil paintings. The careful blend of photography and art give stunning artistic results and have become the decorative focal points in many homes and offices across The United States and abroad. Her clients believe these true personal 'works of art' are far more precious than any possession one can own.

Fast becoming known as the most sought after photographer in her community, Laura's portraits have received many photographic honors; most recently she was awarded 6 different awards including the Judges Choice by the Professional Photographers Association of Massachusetts.
