Over 50 artists and artisans have registered for the first annual Manchester Arts Festival, which will take place throughout downtown Manchester on Saturday, July 26 (rain date: Sunday, July 27), from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Festival will feature the display and sales of a wide variety of fine arts and handmade crafts, as well as continuous entertainment. Come say hello and pick up our festival special at a savings of 50%.

Additional highlights are the Library’s annual book sale, the Firemen’s Association cook-out, merchants’ tables on the sidewalks, and special Festival menus offered by the local restaurants. Festival co-chairs Chuck Hayback of Nor’East Frameworks and Joan White of Beach Street Studio have directed the efforts of an incredibly hard-working committee in creating this new Cape Ann arts event. I don’t know why they call then “no-see-um’s because you sure could see them last week at Wingaersheek Beach. In more than 20 years, I have NEVER seen such a swarm. This has to be the most patient family. We were everywhere trying to avoid the cloud of bugs that just kept on finding us. Patience paid off, because their Family Portraits are beautiful and bug free.

The quaint harbor of Magnolia is one of the most picturesque places on the entire North Shore. This beautiful Gloucester beach is also a great place to create your family portrait. It’s very quiet and it offers a lot of variety in your portraiture. These are just a few of my favorites from last week.
