It's not enough today to sit, heads touching, posing for a close-cropped photo to appear in the hometown paper. Although we can do that for you, today most couples document their togetherness with engagement portraits that reflect their love for one another with magazine-style; multiple-location shoots involving several outfits, props and sometimes their pets.
Establishing a relationship with your photographer long before your wedding will make a difference in the outcome of your wedding images. We spend about an hour or two with couples watching them, listening to them, having fun with them, getting to know them, and photographing them all at the same time. We take note of how you interact with each other, your individual personalities, and even your quirks. These mental notes help us capture and photograph images on the wedding day that are truly unique to you. It's really all about you and your story.
Today's engagement portraits are meant to be shared! In the paper, yes, but also on Facebook, personal blogs, your wedding blog, smart phone or ipad. They can be given as gifts to the family. Parents especially love photographs of their children. Most of our clients order save-the-date cards, wedding invitations, wedding programs, reception guest books or a portrait to hang on the wall in their new home. We find many couples would rather have an engagement image on their wall instead of one in their wedding attire, however some do both. We all have individual tastes so there is no right or wrong.
